Here is a great, ‘quick-read’, article in the Huffington Post regarding your toothbrush.
You use it every day, but when was the last time you really thought about it? Remember, your toothbrush is the best friend you have for removing plaque, food particles, and bacteria. Yes, seeing your dentist regularly is pretty good too.
Here are some things to think about. Read the full article here.
Round, rotating heads (like the ones dentist uses to clean your mouth) are most effective. But finding a toothbrush that’s comfortable, which means you’re more likely to use it frequently, is pretty darn important too.
There is not one size that works for everyone, so you need to find a size that works for you. If you can move it comfortably around all of your teeth (especially the back molars) then it’s probably the right size for your mouth.
Soft is good, hard is not so good when it comes to your toothbrushes’ bristles. Softer bristles do a better job of cleaning.
Marketing ploy? Perhaps. Generally the handle has little impact on cleaning. Again, if it’s comfortable for you, you’re more likely to use it.
The old adage is…if it’s been more than four months, yes. We recommend cycling through toothbrushes every quarter or every 3 months of the year.
