We’ve Added a New Location

We’re excited to announce our new location in Stuart, Florida.

The Stuart Center for Laser Periodontics & Implants is located at 901 E. Ocean Boulevard in Stuart. The zip code is 34994 and the office phone number is (772) 919-7093.

The location was formerly Follweiler Periodontology and Laser Technology. Dr. Follweiler, who has been practicing for more than 30 years will still see patients at this location. He will be joined by Dr. DeTure to serve patients along the Treasure Coast.

Donating Dental Service in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida Area

Looking back a little over 2 years ago, we were able to work with Dr. Brian Rask and the Dental Lifeline Network along with John Hinshaw Dental Lab and to help a patient get new dentures.

Opportunities like this allow our practice to help people in the local community, and the reality it that procedures like getting dentures, can have a positive and dramatic impact on the lives of patients.

Julia, the patient who received the new dentures, is now better able to speak with issue, chew her food properly and feel more confident about her smile!

About Dr. Rask

Dr. Brian Rask, serving the greater Pompano Beach community completed extensive dental continuing education from the Pankey Institute, Seattle Study Club, Scottsdale Center for Dentistry and the Academy of General Dentistry.

He has learned how to treat patients with complex problems such as TMJ dysfunction, facial pain, snoring and sleep apnea, occlusal (bite) problems, esthetics concerns, and interdisciplinary (several specialists) requirements.

Dr. Rask has earned his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. In 2013, Dr. Brian Rask was awarded Small Business Person of the Year by the Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce and Outstanding Young Alumni for the College of Dentistry from the University of Florida.

About The Dental Lifeline Network

The Dental Lifeline Network is a national nonprofit organization, founded in 1974, that provides access to dental care and education for people who cannot afford it and:

have a permanent disability or
who are elderly: age 65 or older or
who are medically fragile

Through their flagship program, Donated Dental Services (DDS), dental care is provided through a national network of 15,000 volunteer dentists and 3,600 volunteer laboratories. Dental Lifeline Network has 60 staff members. Many, located throughout the United States, serve as Program Coordinators who work with these volunteers, linking them with patients in need of care.

Meet Dr. Nick DeTure, Your Fort Lauderdale Periodontist

Born in Gainesville, Florida

Dr. DeTure’s training was in Evidence Based Periodontics, including regenerative, pocket reduction, antimicrobial, and implant therapy. Special emphasis was placed on root coverage procedures, esthetic periodontal plastic surgery, bone regeneration, implant and laser therapy.

When not working, Dr. DeTure enjoys spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies are traveling, exercise, skiing, fishing and football.

There are many practices in Ft. Lauderdale, Deerfield Beach and throughout Broward County that offer similar treatment to our office, but there are several distinctions that make our local periodontist office “one of a kind.”

Why Choose Our Offices?

1) Dr. Nick DeTure is one of the most experienced periodontists in using lasers to treat periodontal disease and have been using them in the treatment of periodontal disease since 1996 – nearly 20 years now!

2) Our practice has over 10 years experience successfully managing recurrent periodontal disease by treating the bacterial cause rather than just the effects of the bacteria. We use cutting edge DNA analysis and cultures to determine the bacteria causing the infection and to determine which antibiotics to help treat the infection then use phase contrast microscope analysis to monitor your bacterial control at you’re maintenance visits.

3) We will do our best to ensure your comfort in our office. We do our best to be gentle, and offer in office sedation options such as Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas), oral or IV sedation to allow you to receive the treatment you need in as relaxed an atmosphere as we can provide.

4) Dr. DeTure was trained in residency by Dr. PD Miller (Dr. Miller is a pioneer and world leader on soft tissue grafting) on gingival and connective tissue grafting and when possible we use micro-grafts to rebuild weak gum tissue which is much more comfortable to recover from than traditional grafting procedures.
